A board foot is a way of measuring raw materials. wood and foam are usually sold by the board foot in the Metcalf Store.

One board-foot equals:

  • 1 ft × 1 ft × 1 in
  • 12 in × 12 in × 1 in
  • 144 in³

So a piece of foam that is 4x6x12in would be 2 board feet.

Formula (Remember to use all in inches)

(Length x Width x Height) / 144 = How many board feet

Board feet times price will give you the cost
