General Overview

Used for hard cover bookbinding, it is more expensive than Chip Board, but better because it is easier to use and more durable.

"A superior quality binders board sought after by hand bookbinders for its high density, and single ply construction. Suitable for all hardcover book and box construction, as well as albums, ring binders, decorative boxes, scale model making, etc. This board is buffered with calcium carbonate to a pH of 8.0. for use when an acid-free board is required."

Tips, Tricks & How-Tos

You can cut a deign into the board and when you cover it with book cloth the design will be debossed into the cover.

When using davey board for a book cover, the grain should always be running vertically. When you buy davey board, it specifies on the packaging which way the grain is running. Usually, it will be running the long way. The reason that it needs to be running vertically is because if the davey board is running horizontally, the covers of your book will warp in strange and unpredictable ways.
