Folding 12in Rule
From RISDpedia
Many high quality tools can be purchased in such places as flea markets or antique stores. This folding rule was bought at an antique store for less than ten dollars and is used on a near daily basis. As with other folding or fixed rules, they are great for measuring small distances where a tape measure can be too awkward. This particular rule is made of boxwood, with brass mechanisms and a sliding caliper. With a large history of shipbuilding in New England, there are many antique stores in the region with a plethora of valuable finds such as this.
