For graphic designers in particular, ink jet ink is a huge expense. It's tempting to try going cheap on it and buying cartridges that have been "reloaded" by off-brand manufacturers. BEWARE OF COLOR PROBLEMS WITH CHEAP INK. In my experience (and that of many classmates), it's best to find a resale outlet that sells the name brand ink at the best price.

RISD Store $16 Usually the most expensive place, but reliable
SBI Photo/Hunt's $12 Register with them for the student discount. Also, watch for sales.
