Johnson's Paste Wax is a great shop companion for wood or metal. It's great for protecting tools from corrosion and also makes metal to metal parts slide easier. Some makers use it to finish furniture and cabinets, but others find that wax's slight stickiness only causes wood surfaces to dirty faster. You can easily achieve a high gloss by hand or buffing wheel.
Wax is a classic finish for all types of metals, especially rust-prone ferrous alloys.

Tips, Tricks & How-Tos

I always keep a small rag in the can to avoid dust and dirt.
To achieve a nice shine by hand, apply in a circular motion (use some muscle).

Not Recommended
|
|
Not a good finish for painted surfaces, especially milk paint. Johnson's has a tendency to yellow, which is very noticeable on the paint, but less so on natural wood.
