Luan Plywood

General Overview

Luan plywood, better know as Luan, is a cheap grade of Mahogany plywood available in 1/8" and 1/4" thicknesses. It's Perfect for cabinet backing, or any utility purpose, and has even been know to be used in boats that are covered with fiberglass.

Tips, Tricks & How-Tos

Great low cost ply for projects needing a more refined look than normal plywood. Often used as a veneer.

As with any wood products proper respirators are recommended. Luan being derived from Mahogany, has a higher toxicity than other plywoods.
